Top Summer Concerts We Know You'll Be Going To

Summer is around the corner and that means the busiest concert time of the year is upon us!! We have a few hot shows that we wanted you to get to know because...well, we know we'll probably see you at one of them. As always, summer brings together that eclectic flavor and music is the bowl that holds the flavors together and gets them stirred up. Whether you're black, white, spanish or asian. Whether you like hip-hop, soul, rock, country or fusion - dance, sing and most importantly come together to enjoy a show as ONE!!

50 CENT

The rap star is sticking to medium-size venues for his latest tour, dubbed the Invitation. A recent press release promises ''a more intimate, unique experience'' in cities from Cleveland (May 28) and making the last stop of his US tour at the House of Blues in Atlantic City (June 25).

ADAM LAMBERT

Expect a spectacle during the Idol alum's Glam Nation tour, which will thrill crowds from Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (June 4), to Rockford, Ill. (September 4). Show up early if you want to catch opening sets from Glambert's Idol classmate Allison Iraheta and Australian guitar whiz Orianthi. Coming to Borgata in Atlantic City June 26th.

AMERICAN IDOL LIVE!

Whether your favorite Idol contestant wins it all or gets screwed in the finals this year, chances are he or she is coming to your town. Season 9's top 10 contenders — that's Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, Andrew Garcia, Casey James, Aaron Kelly, Michael Lynche, Siobhan Magnus, Katie Stevens, and Tim Urban — kick off their road trip in Auburn Hills, Mich. (July 1), and keep moving all the way through September. They'll hit Atlantic City July 10th and follow up with Philadelphia on July 11th.

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND

Can't make it to Tennessee to see Dave at Bonnaroo? No worries! Groove to your heart's content at one of the many dates on DMB's latest tour, which begins in Hartford, Conn. (May 28), and jams on through September 15 (Saint Paul, MN). Openers include the Felice Brothers, Gov't Mule, the Zac Brown Band, and Raphael Saadiq.
Dave has always given Philly multiple dates and this year is no different. See him twice at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden New Jersey on June 30th and July 1st.

ERYKAH BADU

Fresh off the release of her acclaimed album New Amerykah Part Two, Badu is launching a concert series May 28 in Washington D.C. Her Out My Mind, Just in Time tour runs for a month before taking her to NYC, where she'll perform alongside Maxwell and Jill Scott (Jun. 26); the next day, she joins the traveling Lilith Fair, where she'll stay through August 14. She'll make an intimate pit stop in Philly with a show on June 8th at the Tower Theater.

HOLE

Courtney Love's current band shares exactly zero non-Love members with the previous iterations of Hole, however, her live act of late has been getting good reviews. Next up is a spin from San Diego (June 3) to Minneapolis (July 16). You can catch her new look, same name band at The Electric Factory on June 22nd.

JONAS BROTHERS and DEMI LOVATO

This is the place to be for Disney Channel types: The JoBros are hitting the road with Demi as an opening act, and their costars from the Camp Rock movies are slated to make special appearances. The tween screams will begin in Dallas (July 27) and reverberate until October 17 (Raleigh). You can mark their invasion of Philly with your crayons on your calendar as they are due to hit up the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden New Jersey on August 27th.

KINGS OF LEON

The Followill family will rock in Atlantic City June 5 before traveling around the country through September 23 (Dallas), with a handful of U.K. dates thrown in here and there for maximum frequent-flier miles. The Black Keys, Built to Spill, the Whigs, and others open. They'll rock the Philly area on August 5th at the Borgata Center in Atlantic City.

LILITH FAIR

For three summers in the late '90s, Lilith Fair brought together an unprecedented number of female stars and raised millions for charity. Now it's back (finally!) and better than ever. A rotating group of artists — including founder Sarah McLachlan, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Emmylou Harris, Heart, Gossip, Sugarland, Cat Power, and many more — will start with a couple of Canadian dates before playing in the U.S. from Portland, Ore. (July 2), to Dallas (Aug. 16). Girl Power hits up the Philly Tri-state area on July 28th at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden New Jersey.

MAXWELL and JILL SCOTT

Two of the brightest stars in today's soul scene will soon be shining together. Their trek takes them from coast to coast May 21 through July 15. They'll be steaming up Philly on June 19th at the Wachovia Center

RIHANNA and KE$HA

The Last Girl on Earth tour was originally supposed to include rising rap phenom Nicki Minaj before a last-minute lineup shuffle. Oh, well. Even without Nicki's help, Rihanna and Ke$ha will surely bring the pop party in full force to cities from Seattle (July 2) to Chicago (Aug. 25). The girls are gonna sex up the Philly area on August 18th at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden New Jersey.

SHERYL CROW

Crow recently announced she's working on a soul-influenced album called 100 Miles From Memphis. Appropriately enough, Memphis is not one of the places she'll be visiting during her tour, which begins in Chattanooga, Tenn. (June 11), and continues through October 1 (Nashville). Get a date with Sheryl on August 14th at Ceasar's in Atlantic City.

TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS

Last year, a box set documented just how tight Tom Petty & Co. have remained over four decades on the road. Witness it firsthand at any of their headlining dates, which start in Denver, CO, June 1 and extend through October 2 (Irvine, CA). Check in twice for the band's dual date at the Wachovia Center on July 31st and August 1st.

VANS WARPED TOUR

The headbanging institution will kick up a racket from Carson, Calif. (June 25), to Hillsboro, Ore. (Aug. 15). This year's noisemakers include the All-American Rejects, Motion City Soundtrack, the Dillinger Escape Plan, Reel Big Fish, and tons more. For years, Vans Warped Tour has been rocking out Philly at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden New Jersey. This year, they'll be doing it on July 16th.

ZAC BROWN BAND

The ''Chicken Fried'' guys have already begun playing their easygoing country tunes on a tour that continues with a Carnival cruise line run through September, and includes a July run opening for Dave Matthews Band. Catch the slick  Grammy winning sounds of this country jam band at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden New Jersey on August 13th
