Summer Season Concert Series - Philly Style: May 6th

The Trocadero:
     Headliner: Minus the Bear
Opening Acts: Young the Giant / Everest
     Doors: 7pm / Show: 7:30pm
     Tix: SOLD OUT!!
With songs made of big swirling ribbons of sound, this Seattle, Washington group illuminate themselves with a hazy light show of sorts coupled with dual guitars penetrating a thick bank of keyboards. You'll probably like the energy they have to bring their songs to life. The LA band, Everest, make a good compliment in this line up as they bring almost the same mixed guitar sounds, but with a different feel.

World Live Cafe:
     Headliner: EOTO
Opening Acts: Sub Swara / Ryat
     Doors: 8pm / Show: 9pm
     Tix: $15
Jason Hann and Michael Travis (from the band The String Cheese Incident) make up this 100% improvised live Breakbeat/ House/ Drum n Bass/ Trip Hop project. Their story is using cutting edge technology to create truly original and melodic dance music in the moment, with the power of live drums. They record the music, then mix and remix LIVE to create an ever evolving musical experience.
Definitely worth hearing and seeing live to see their actual creations be created.

Johnny Brenda's:
     Headliner: Fantasy Square Garden
Opening Acts: The Prigs / Oudblues / Monuments
     Doors: 8pm / Show: 9pm
     Tix: $10
Featuring the hugely talented sister team of Ali and Claire Wadsworth, Fantasy Square Garden are inspired by everything from the 60's, most things from the 70's, the 80's, the 90's but nothing from now. They sound like the Zombies...the Hollies...the Jefferson Airplane...a little Skynyrd...a little Shankar all rolled up into a musical number. If that doesn't get you curious enough, you're missing a lot. Get into Johnny Brenda's tonight and find yourself committing a crime by paying real cheap for a quality show!!
