American Idol Recap: Top 4 Results

Last night's results on American Idol showed fans and the Top 4 remaining contestants their fate after Tuesday night's lackluster "Songs from the Movies" theme. The duets between Crystal Bowersox/Lee DeWyze and Casey James/Michael Lynche weren't all too shabby. Leaving us to question why a duet at such a critical portion of the show?? Anyway, with two performances this week from each singer (one solo and one duet) fans were given plenty of material to work with when it came to voting.

But first, musical guests on Wednesday night's show included Fantasia Barrino and Chris Daughtry's band, Daughtry, as well as rock band Bon Jovi.  After one of the good performances form the guests, host, Ryan Seacrest let one Idol hopeful off the hook early on in the show. Casey James was told he was safe, much to the relief of his fans who were worried after his performance of "Mrs. Robinson" on Tuesday.

Daughtry's performance was a major reminder that he was voted off waaaay too early in his season.

Next, Lee Dewyze was also told he was safe, but in a roundabout way. Seacrest had to confuse us, saying, "Friends, Lee is heading back to Chicago". It took a millisecond to register that he meant Lee was going home for the Top 3 visit.

Lee's safety wasn't a shocker in itself. The the fact that Michael Lynche was once again at the bottom wasn't a shocker, either. What was the shocker was having Crystal Bowersox at the bottom for the first time of the season... see what happens after a duet?

Soon after though, it was Big Mike Lynche who was told that he was going home. Like him or not, this guy had a ton of positive energy, not to mention a ton of talent. He'll be picked up and signed to an album along the way.

So, after Wednesday night's elimination, here are the remaining American Idol contestants:
Crystal Bowersox, 24, Toledo, Ohio

Casey James, 27, Fort Worth, Texas

Lee Dewyze, 24, Mount Prospect, Ill.
