Kung Fu Necktie:
  Headliner: Dutch
Opening Act: Vespertina / DJ Stoupe (of Jedi Mind Tricks)
  Doors: 7:30pm / Show: 8pm
  Tix:$10
Dutch is comprised of Jedi Mind Tricks’ Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind and sensational vocalist/songwriter Liz Fullerton. The unlikely duo first collaborated on the track "Razorblade Salvation" on JMT’s 2006 LP Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell and again on the track "Death Messiah" from JMT’s 2008 LP A History of Violence. The union of Liz’s deeply sympathetic vocal stylings and Stoupe’s trademark visceral JMT beats made both songs standout cuts from those records. Comparisons to the dark trip-hop aesthetics of Portishead, the soul-piercing melodies of Cat Power, and the wrenching sadness of Aimee Mann. Musically the soundscape isn’t really a vast departure for fans of Stoupe’s previous work with Jedi Mind Tricks
Johnny Brendas:
  Headliner: Plants and Animals
Opening Act: Lost In The Trees
  Doors: 8pm / Show: 9pm
  Tix:$10
Montreal can add ambitious, sun-baked trio Plants And Animals to the ranks of its growing community of celebrated musicians. This three-piece spins shaggy songs into expansive, genre-bending symphonies. And though last year's too-brief With/Avec EP hinted at Plants and Animals' expansiveness, it didn't fully prepare listeners for their debut album Parc Avenue, a sprawling collection of rootsy melodies, majestic arrangements, and classic rock riffs that owes as much to jam-band psychedelia and it does to delicately orchestrated chamber-folk. Plants and Animals may not be the first band to put Montreal on the musical map, but, with this album's there's-no-place-like-home vibe, they are certainly the first to celebrate it so warmly.
